This is it, I have started really sewing! I mean, really. I have completed my first online bought pattern after many months of watching Amanda from Isewalot and the vlogs from TheFoldLine , Lisa from SewOverIt and Sarah from LikeSewAmazing.
I have found that going online provides many sites to inspire you, with lots of people sharing their makes, tricks and tips to get you going or simply to help you become a better sewer.
In my case, I was a pretty poor performer… I always did everything by hand, sewing hems on trousers, fitting tops, adding seams the best way I could. Last year, I started printed free pdf patterns and decided to join in the adventure that so many of you seem to enjoy… bring on the creative process and see what comes out! I have definitely seen an improvement over the months, with patience and technique growing with each application of YOUR tips to each of my new trial.
It was only after my beloved Brother sewing machine left me (rest in peace dear little friend) that I invested in a more sturdier sewing machine…. I chose a Pfaff Expression 4.2 for its multi-skills and decided that from now on, I would try and sew patterns I liked…
